I grew up making frequent shopping trips there with my mom, and now I find myself taking my own kiddos along whenever I make a Boscov’s visit (FYI, exploring all the couches and chairs in the furniture department while Mommy shops is just as cool for your kiddos as it was when we were kids 😉 ). This department store is actually celebrating it’s 102nd anniversary this year!

What’s this store’s secret to their long-lasting success? Offering quality, smart items useful to running our busy homes and lives. My favorite part about shopping at Boscov’s is that I can grab everything on my list in one trip. A gift for dad, a new pair of sneakers, a fresh dog bowl AND some thank-you cards? Done and done! Whatever it is I’m looking for, Boscov’s carries. With the frequent, significant sales they run to slash prices, no need to stress over coupons or cost comparison. I select my items easily, resting assured that I’m getting a great price on my purchases.
When they recently asked me to pop by for some early Christmas shopping, I was delighted. Aside from knowing I’d find some cool holiday home decor, I was taken with the nostalgia of the trip too; my mother’s favorite holiday was Christmas and this was the season we always spent the most time visiting Boscov’s. It felt meaningful to go with my family and choose some special items to decorate our house for the season.
What holiday home decor did we find at Boscov’s?
I think the question, “What holiday home decor didn’t we find at Boscov’s?” would be easier to answer! Shopping for Christmas decor at this store was the perfect thing to do as a family because we all found some treasures.
My husband was tickled to upgrade with some new LED outdoor lights and a star for our tree.
My kiddos were taken with the soft new throw pillows we found to jazz up our couch and chair.
They also squealed when they found an Elf on the Shelf ornament with the name of their elf, Luke! They can’t wait to put him on our tree and show him to the real Luke when he arrives for the season.
We even found a couple Christmas toys and a scarf to decorate our pooch and his beloved bed area so he can ring in Christmastime in style.
But my favorite finds were the pieces of timeless holiday home decor that reminded me so much of not only my mother and our long ago Boscov’s shopping trips, but of the Christmas decorations that were in my home growing up. This was most poignant when my husband and I saw a classic porcelain light-up Christmas tree for sale. We both remember this tree being on display in our homes when we were kids. How fun was it to find the same item at Boscov’s this year and purchase it for our own home!
I also got a neat wall hanging with the rustic decor look I love.
And I can’t say how satisfyingly delightful it was to clean up the mess of Wii games and remotes that have been messily stashed on the entertainment system as we are in process of finishing our basement. What treat to clean it all up and decorate it for Christmas with these sweet, gorgeous wooden signs we found and some Christmas-scented Yankee candles. Makes it feel like a real living space!

Our nostaligic Christmas decorating Boscov’s shopping trip was so fun for our whole family–I think a new seasonal tradition may have been started!
