****Disclaimer: Today’s post is sponsored by CHOP at Virtua, but my love for their pediatric care is all my own!****
My children are six and four, which may not seem to be very aged as children go. Yet, when you consider the number of heart-stopping moments and necessary hospital visits we’ve already met up with, it’s a pretty seasoned age of parenting as ages of parenting go. The truth is, I feel blessed–we live in an area well equipped to deal with whatever medical need my children necessitate.
While we have been generally well serviced as yet by local hospitals and doctors offices, I can’t say what a relief it is to know that the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and their partnership with Virtua is so very close by should our children become ill or get injured. We’ve had many friends find the specific medical care their children need–for many different reasons–through this superior health system. True story, we even know one family who moved their entire household to our area so they could partake of CHOP’s services! Yup, CHOP’s reputation is that fantastic.
Why is CHOP at Virtua such a wonderful solution?
For years, Virtua has been a pillar in the community–taking care of moms, newborns and children for decades. Five years ago, CHOP and Virtua teamed up to bring CHOP doctors to South Jersey, enhancing Virtua’s already robust program. For us parents in the area, this means convenient access to world-class pediatric care and when more complex problems arise, knowing we have easier access to CHOP in Philadelphia.
Aside from my son’s traumatic experience with a hip spica cast and his later corrective eye surgery, my children’s health needs have been relatively par for the course. Yet as I mentioned above, we have had many friends who sought and found assistance for their children through CHOP at Virtua’s supreme care system. I’ve heard nothing but first-hand praises sung regarding their team of doctors and nurses who are there every step of the way, providing high quality and safe care.
As a parent, you’d do anything for your child – no matter what. So when he/she falls ill or gets hurt, you want your child to get the best quality care. I’m so thankful that we have this high-quality pediatric care close to home. The peaceful reassurance that comes with know I can seek CHOP at Virtua‘s services should my child require medical advice or treatment is priceless.
The thing is, friends, as parents, we can never predict what our children’s future needs will be, but we can do our best to set ourselves up to handle those needs, whatever they are. For us, knowing that CHOP at Virtua is so very close by is the very definition of peace of mind. Even if the worst should occur, I know that very capable hands are within such close reach. And having this knowledge? Feels so very, very good as a parent.
Here’s three cheers to CHOP at Virtua and all the quality care–and peace of mind!–they provide for our kids!
****Many thanks to CHOP at Virtua for sponsoring today’s story and encouraging me to seek out their services when my child is hurt or ill.****

I used to live in the Philly area. We are VERY familiar with CHOP. They are great! It’s comforting as a parent to know your kids are in competent, caring hands. Great health care is priceless!

We have only one Children’s Hospital in our area and all of the local hospitals will send children there for any urgent matters. It’s supposed to be one of the best in the state and I’ve heard no complaints about it. We’re fortunate that we haven’t had to utilize their services but only once when my baby boy had an ear infection.

Aren’t children’s hospitals who know their stuff such a blessing, Latoya? 🙂
