Lately, I’d been crushing on a new accessory for our home, and it’s one that won’t do anything to make our house prettier, but it would going to go a long way to making it significantly healthier. What is this magical device? An air purifier. Since I had my eye on one for quite a while, I jumped when Honeywell offered to send me a free True HEPA Allergen Remover in exchange for an honest, unbiased review.
So read on to get the whole scoop on our experience with our new Honeywell Air Purifer and pay close attention for exciting news!
Why do you need an air purifier?
Who here loves allergies? No one, right? With all their sniffling, sneezing, watery eyes, coughing and even mild flu-like symptoms, they are an unwelcome nuisance that so many of us battle. While we can do our best to combat the symptoms, this isn’t always effectual. Allergy medications, leaving shoes by the front door, frequent cleaning, neti pot usage…whatever our plan of attack is, it can only go so far.
To truly cut allergy symptoms, we have to cut the allergens in the air. How do we do that? Enter the air purifier!
How do allergens get in the air in our homes?
A zillion ways, but several of them are parts of our every day lives that we would never consider to be detrimental to the quality of air in our homes.
- Vacuuming, a way we clean our homes, actually releases dust and other allergens in the air.
- Making the bed? Shaking or ruffling bedding can release dust mite debris and other allergens.
- We love our pets! But levels of pet dander can be found in every U.S. home even if you’re not a pet owner.
- Couches are fantastic places to crash, but during the lifetime of a couch, it can collect dust, pet dander, and other airborne allergens
Does the air purifer really work?

It’s amazing how many health issues can be allergy related! My doctor just started me on a treatment for seasonal allergies for something that had absolutely nothing to do with the typical sneezing/coughing, etc. (We’re trying it to treat my vertigo and ringing in the ears.) This would be great!

Allergies are the WORST! My husband and 10 yr old suffer year round, but Spring is by far the worst for them. I’m also a seasonal allergy sufferer, so this would be awesome to help alleviate some of the symptoms! Great tips too!
