I have done it, readers. I have sobbed, and then sobbed some more when faced with the horrific looming atrocity of my junk drawer. The thing is, it doesn’t get better; it only gets worse. Somehow needed scissors and coupons manage to find deeper and deeper corners into which to lodge themselves and mock me. I know they are mocking me, cruelly.
I have looked at my to-do list and wished upon a star that it would magically evaporate. I have realized the necessity and the hope of spring cleaning and have done nothing more than meekly wave hello at it from afar.
My house is a pit. A hopeless disintegration of orderly dreams and cleanliness. When this truth isn’t busy breaking my heart, it is very occupied convicting me that I must get some things in order.
The first and most pressing? Our medicine cabinet. You see, expired medications aren’t a good thing to have around. Their efficacy can be compromised. Not sure about you, but having excess ineffective meds in my house is not a desirable situation; I work hard enough to manage and secure the usable ones we have, I don’t need to fuss with the expired stuff.
Getting rid of expired medications is a quick and easy way to clean up your house and clear out unwanted clutter. How to do it? Follow these 3 easy steps on the newly redesigned super user-friendly KnowYourOTCs.org website. Quicker than you can empty that dishwasher, you’re done! Welcome, tidy bathroom cabinet and springtime-purging feeling of peace! Bliss!
I’ve been following along with Know Your OTCs for a year now and I can’t say what a blessing they’ve been in helping me wise up about the medications I keep in my home–these things are no joke, especially when kids are involved. Let’s be honest: it may be ages upon ages before I finally school that junk drawer, but even on the very bleakest of days, I might still manage to make a one-minute sweep of our medicine stash?? Let’s hope. Bottom line? It needs to be done. There is no sense in yielding up precious counter space to things that are simply no good.
Check out these three simple steps to safely booting the junk from your stash and get that spring cleaning kicked off in your home! This can happen! Your medicine cabinet does not have to be tale of woe–boot the old stuff and get your tidy, pretty clean space on.
