In my early days of babies and blogging, I chanced upon Lisa Codina of Bites for Babies. Finding her was a blessing for me. Lisa is everything I’m not–together, creative, and likes to cook! When I saw the simple recipes she published, I would think, “I could do this!” (Huge for me, I know). She encouraged me to nudge the baby food I was making into healthier and more fun dishes. Moreover, the recipes she shared were not only appropriate for my babies, but appealing for adults too!
Since I first met Lisa, my kids have grown, and so has my love for her recipes. We have stayed in touch with each other, checking in as the busy chaos of kids allows, and when I heard she was publishing her own cookbook, I fistpumped the air, “Wa-hoo!!!”
Seeing someone that does something really well “make it” is one of the sweetest joys I know. And that through this cookbook she’s going to help a whole lot of other families find some mealtime solutions? Very, very cool.
It’s only a cookbook, either. Lisa has packed the book out with storage and cooking tips, pantry essentials, serving suggestions and more. I’ll let her tell you more about it below, and you can also check out a few of the yummy recipes from the book. Join me in welcoming Bites for Babies and make sure to enter the giveaway at the end to win a copy for yourself or to give as a gift!

Cooking has always been a source of inspiration and relaxation for me. I have always been passionate about all things food so my first child was born it was only natural for me to make the conscious decision to provide him with healthy homemade food, made with fresh, organic, ingredients, and of course, love!
My goal in preparing these recipes was to entice his palate, encourage him to enjoy meal times and to mold him into an adventurous eater. It was my tech-savvy husband who planted the blogging seed over two years ago, which ultimately inspired me to share my passion for cooking with like-minded moms and dads.
My experiments in the kitchen slowly turned into an online recipe book where I now share adult-inspired recipes, modified for babies and toddlers of all ages. One thing led to another (another seed was planted, if I remember correctly), and I was able to tick off an item on my Bucket List, that is, write and my publish my own cookbook!
- Detailed, easy to follow instructions
- Ideal age for serving and how much each recipe yields
- Serving suggestions for baby as well as modifications for toddlers and adults
- Interesting food facts, cooking and storage tips
- High resolution pictures of the final product
- A recommended list of pantry essentials to help get you started
- Healthy substitutions for every day ingredients
- Fifty cooking and storage tips to help you save time and energy in the kitchen and prevent food waste.

So weird: I think Bites for Baby just commented on something of mine on FB! How ironic! And yes, I’ll take that book as I’m trying to make my own food for baby #3 because, you know, we’re broke.
