You know that whole bit about how I’m not crafty or creative? It’s not a shtick-for-show. It’s real.
I see craft supplies and I panic. DIY projects to pretty up my home sound like a modern form of torture. So when summer rolls around, and it’s time to come up with fun ideas for my kids’ birthday parties AND pull them off? Yeah, that’s me shuddering in the corner.
But…I love my kids, so I grab a paper-bag for emergency hyperventilation needs and force myself to man up. I beg endless help from family and friends and keep a tidy stash of wine on hand in case the paper bag coping mechanism falls through. And then sometimes, just sometimes, the end result ends up being kind of cool…
This year, my 5 yr. old son’s camping birthday was one of these cool “sometimes” and I’d love for you to go read about all of the fun over at Wayfair.
Come join me at the campfire, where I’m hanging out–until next year’s birthday panic starts, that is…
