I’ll admit it. I’m a product junkie and a proud product junkie. Bring on the drugstore because I’m on a mission. Actually, bring on my my link-through Ebates to whatever store has the best deal. Coupled with free shipping codes from RetailMeNot, you know I’m not trying to actually leave my house.
Since money is always on the tight side, I love me a good find. Something that works well for me and/or my family and worth ponying up some of our hard-earned cash. Since spa visits aren’t exactly in the budget, if I can find some way to pretty up a bit at home, it’s a total score. If I discover an item that makes our harried days a bit smoother and maybe even saves us a buck or two? Victory indeed!
Just be cautious; if I ever start babbling about this stuff in real life, just flee and run. I like my products and I like to talk about them. Poor Alisa discovered this the hard way when I subjected her to a fifteen minute litany about my new fav chapstick during our last phone call. Lovely, kind girl for pretending to care. Riveting conversation.
And now it’s your turn. Just humor me because I simply have to tell you about all these cool things that are rocking my world. No sponsored content here, just my latest crushes.*

Any other fellow Carmex addicts out there? I know, I have them stuck in every single pocket of any garment I own too. And I certainly never expected to find a replacement for my long-term love, but I think I may have. Check these sweet little Vaseline lip therapy tubs that work over time to keep your lips soft . My husband doesn’t understand why I like all things miniature. Whatever, he’s such a man. Go check these out. They are a) adorable and b) have a rich, creamy texture that I may like even better than Carmex. This is a serious claim, I know.
When I saw Huggies finally came out with fashionable refillable travel wipes cases, I couldn’t wait to snatch up a Clutch ‘n’ Clean. I got mine in a flower print at the grocery store for $3.99. The thin hard plastic case doesn’t hold enough for me, and I have a cloth case I can shove the disposable packs into, but this new product is an easy-to-clean, easy-to-refill soft plastic case that I can actually throw any wipes of my choice into. Buying large bulk packs of wipes vs. the disposable packs? So much cheaper. Nice job, Huggies!
Fine hair and watching the strands sadly lose their grip as the years pile on? Loreal Volume Filler works. Well. Don’t give into thin hair inevitability – unless you want to. After sobbing for three months and driving my sister crazy with a fear that I looked like my grandmother, I have determined that I don’t want to. Bring on the full hair, please.
I have spent a lifetime eschewing self-tanner. Then I hit 34 and my legs started officially looking like pasty tree trunks. And I may have a book signing coming up that I want to rock a cute dress for. Yet our budget isn’t embracing the personalized spray tan. After reading in multiple mags about Suave’s new Visible Glow tanning lotion, I hooked myself up and…I’m loving it. It’s truly very, very gradual, but still real and because it’s a lotion, you really can’t screw it up. No, really, if I can do this, so can you.
We know I love my sea salt spray when I’m going curly, but for those days I indulge in a blow-out? If I mist up my do with Pantene Keragloss, I’ve found my straight strands stay glossy and last longer, so this one ends up being not only a beauty trick, but a time-save, which is always a score in my book. Mist on, I say.
Agave nectar. This is a big step for the the Spidel family. We have always been a traditional sugar household, but now that we have tasted this syrupy wholesomeness? We’re goners. It gets thrown around on everything from a toast topper to a drink sweetener. A neat money-save? Buy it in the baking aisle vs. the drink mix section. Same product, way cheaper. Pass the nectar.
I’ve raved about the Urban Decay 24/7 eyeliner, but it’s time to check the lipliner. True story, if I coat on first with this stuff, my lipstick lasts AGES longer than without. I buy my pencils on super-sale, use and sharpen them down to teeny nubs, and feel incredibly bargain-saving savvy for investing in the first place.
Finally, the good paper products. What?? Sure, I’m usually all about the generic. Except when it comes to my paper products. Viva paper towels, Bounty napkins, and Scott Extra Soft tp are my favorites, but I can flex with a nice coupon. I have a weird thing about using multiple napkins at every meal. No this is not green of me; forgive me. But it’s true. And I’ve learned that buying quality goes far further with these goods. So I don’t cheap out on my paper products. I just troll endlessly for the best deal and feel super-proud of myself when I score it.
So in short? Find products you love, save your money for them and use them well. Hope some of these work for you, friends.
Now tell me what works for you because you know my product junkie self will be all over your find and trekking it to the store (read: filling up my Drugstore.com cart ASAP)!
*Shop around and shop around hard for the best deals. The links above are to all the products on Amazon, but depending on sales, deals, and specials they may often be considerably cheaper elsewhere!

I LOVE urban decay, and any other item you can buy at Ulta. I find my car steering itself in that direction weekly. It ends up costing me boatloads. But, I just bring the items in the house and hide them until the hubby goes out. Then it’s party time.

Okay, Lauren, hopping in the minivan and swinging by now. We’re headed to Ulta ASAP!

Suave Visible Glow lotion will be in my grocery cart THIS weekend! I started wearing skirts to work again when spring came and my legs are so white, I think they glow in the dark!! Love your opinions 😉

Can I add shopping the cheap stores for awesome finds that aren’t even considered “deals” because they’re at full price–but full price is like $10? LOVE me some Wal-Mart and Payless Toms-looking shoes, and I have gotten no fewer than 10 compliments on the last few days over some that I’ve picked up. I’ve been saying, “Well, they were $12, which is about $4 more than I normally spend on shoes, but I couldn’t help it because they’re ADORBS!”
Meredith says
Oh gosh, Shay. Now I need to do check these out! Sounds perfect 🙂
