Saved By the Amish Firemen

Priceless mom moments.  We all have them.  If you are like me, your days are probably rather full of them.  I best my describe my foray into parenting as a string of epic fails.  Yeah, I’m really that good at it.  So when my sweetheart Dani of Cloudy, With a Chance of Wine, asked if I would help kick off her super-cool new Priceless Mom Moments series, I was stumped.  Not because I couldn’t think of anything to write about, but because I could narrow it down to just one story that fit the bill.

I sat and pondered (read: drank a glass of wine in honor of her blog name while scrambling to produce something edible for dinner).  And then I realized that the only story that could truly do this fun series justice would be the one that first lead me to call myself a Mom of the Year.  The one that made me understand that try as I might, in short, there will never be any real hope for me.

I described this a little bit before, but the time has come to tell the full tale of how the Amish firemen saved my son and I from the horrible threat of a parking lot.  Because it was it was defining priceless mom moment.  Because it was  funny.  And because it really happened.
