Now before you go assuming me all furniture-ho, let me clarify. It is our table. And I brought it home and gave it a permanent spot in our dining room. And I fully checked out its credentials before signing my heart away.
The sordid story isn’t that sordid. We got married almost 12 years ago, found ourselves crap out of money, ran to the nearest Value City Furniture and got a gem of a dining room set that has served us well, so well…until the chairs started literally falling apart. It was time to grow up, move up and buy some legit landing space for all the meals in this house.
We live in the heart of Amish country and somewhere along the way I went and developed an obsession with the old barnwood furniture look. I persuaded my more polished husband to get on board with the rougher look through a serious of extraordinarily mature begging and pleading sessions. We cleared a Saturday and set off to the countryside.
After trolling around at several different shops, the stuff dreams are made of came true at the sweet little treasure of Lost in the Country Rustics. Their display room was gorgeous and their selection impressive. More than any of the other shops we visited that day, Lost in the Country Rustics had a extensive selection of different styles, finishes, and sizes. I was very impressed by the willingness of the owner to customize specifically what you wanted. They were friendly. The were nice. They made me want to order wood furniture for every room of my house.
If you have been following my blog for any length of time, you are well aware that my husband and I are verified cheapskates and can pinch a penny with the best of them. When I say we shopped around for the best price, I mean we shopped around for the best price. We found exactly what we were looking for at Lost in the Country Rustics and got the best price by far.
I am thrilled with our table, chairs and benches and am attaching a pictures of my beloved below. I wanted to take a picture of me lying on the table, hugging it, but my husband was concerned that this could somehow get misconstrued as internet porn. He was probably right. Regardless, I am in love with my table.
Compensation was received for this post from Lost in the Country Rustics, but all opinions are 100% original.
