I love drive-throughs.

They make me feel phenomenal, because they allow me to ace out errands without getting out of the van. I’m sure this might make me sound like the laziest woman ever, and this may be true. But the thing is, I must have missed some parenting class on how to successfully leave the house with children. I’ll skip all the nasty behavioral nightmares that ensue on any errand trip, and just focus on the logistics. Maybe I didn’t miss a parenting class, maybe I missed the sign-up for a second set of arms? I don’t get how to balance the baby and the diaper bag, while holding the toddler’s hand and usually pushing a shopping cart to boot. And if you’re paying with credit card? Soooo much fun to try and sign your name of the slip while juggling all this…I absolutely do not understand how moms of twins lug two of those baby car seats around at the same time. I bow to their capability.
The beauty of the drive-through is that I can cross things off my obscenely long to-do list and skip the nasty drama of having to get the kids out of their car seats and all the subsequent temper tantrums (thrown by the kids and by Mommy, of course 😉 ). So God bless you, banks of America, larger libraries, coffee shops who understand my need for a caffeine shot, and forward-thinking pharmacies. This Mom of the Year is incredibly grateful and dedicates this post to all businesses with the savvy to rock a drive-through. A special shout-out of gratitude to the sweet teller at Wells Fargo who didn’t judge me too much when I somehow forgot my driver’s license at my last visit and who allowed me to use my Sam’s Club card in its stead (oh yeah, check out that slammin’ alternate form of identification). Thank you–it is very appreciated.
