My inbox is always filled with offers and deals for photo canvases, and while I love, love pictures and think the canvases seem so cool, I have held out. It truly isn’t the cost–somehow, much to the chagrin of my husband, my brain and budget manage to conform themselves around whatever my photo “needs” currently are. Yes, I’m kind of picture-crazy. Anyway, I’ve wanted a canvas for a long time, but the sad truth remains–I simply don’t have a good enough photo of my two kids together to merit a canvas. You will recall my sad attempts to this end. Clearly nothing worthy of a canvas–a picture is cute, a canvas is a commitment, and I’ve got nothing worthy of this commitment.
LOVE it!! |
So when Photo-Canvas.com contacted me about doing a review of one of their canvases, I was over the moon. Free pass to pick my favorite kid of the moment and emblazen their image on the stretched piece of cloth for all eternity! Woo-hoo! I decided to go with my daughter, as our home is already filled with pics of my son (yes, it’s just a sad fact–you take a ton more pics of your first child and always will–sorry, dear daughter). There are so many options on this site–from black and white canvas art to photo montages to Warhol style pop art. I had no idea where to start. Then I got my creative artsy pants on and thought about trying a color splash canvas? You know, the ones where everything is black and white except for the one specific part of the picture that pops out in color? Yeah, those are cool. Since Baby Girl’s pink polka-dot hat has kind of been her trademark fashion article her first year of life, I thought, “How neat would it be to splash out this pink hat on a canvas?” So I went for it.
The canvas looks amazing, as you can’t tell from the photo, since my camera is crappy and I’m a terrible photographer, but trust me–in person, it’s the real deal. But regardless of how much I love it, I was incredibly impressed with the experience of getting my canvas. The ordering process was easy. Truly, even technology-illiterate me could figure out how to download and crop the photo. This company gives you individual attention in working with you to create a product you will love. I had originally only wanted the hat splashed. The photo shop artist assigned to me suggested also popping out her matching romper, and what a good idea! I also was given a chance for final approval of the image before it was put on canvas. I also loved that the processing and shipping was super-quick. Within literally a few days, I had the glorious canvas of my daughter in hand.
Now if I can only figure out the perfect spot in the house to hang it up and figure out how to score a matching canvas of my son…;) I love it, had a great experience, and highly recommend canvasing it up!
This post is affiliated with Photo-Canvas.com, and I did receive a free canvas for review purposes, but I received no other compensation for the post. All opinions are entirely my own.
