My nails looked this good for approximately 1.5 seconds post-manicure |
Pass me the massage-y pedicure chair any day, but polish on my fingernails just isn’t worth it. I am not one for manicures, as they usually chip within a matter of seconds of me leaving the nail salon. Then I heard about these gel manicures (I know, I’m so behind the times and you all have probably been getting them for centuries now, right?). Lasts for 10-14 days without chipping and stays shiny? Seriously?? Count me in!
Groupon in hand, I proudly marched off to the salon. The nail tech worked magic and my hands were gorgeous. I could not have been prouder of myself for figuring out a solution that would last me through the two prime weeks of our wedding season AND my daughter’s birthday party. Woot-woot! This Mom of the Year so had it going on with her nails.
Then…you know it happened. I was washing dishes two days later, the night before our first big event, and…the polish chipped right on off. Whaaa??? So apparently the no-chipping part of this no-chip manicure is negotiable. As in, not true–for me, at least. I’ve had friends tell me this isn’t normal, and that it should have lasted way longer than this, but I think I’m officially signing off manicures altogether. At least until my days of every-other second diaper changes/hand-washes are behind me.
