Longwood Gardens has to be one of the most perfect places in this world. All the credit in the world to my friend E for convincing me this would be a fun place to visit with kids almost a year ago–she was so right and I will be forever grateful to her introduction to this heaven-on-earth. We went, had a great time, soon got a membership and have been loving on the Gardens ever since!
For those of you who aren’t in the Philly area, I’m sure many other local gardens would fit the bill too. Just the concept of taking your family to a gorgeous outdoor locale with loads of room for the kids to run around is pretty awesome. It’s like you walk through the entrance, exhale your stress and breathe in a little peace. My favorite part about Longwood right now are the two children’s gardens–there is one outdoors and one indoors, which allows us to enjoy our membership even when it is cold or rainy. They also have other fun activities for kids, not to mention some really rockin’ treehouses.
Christmastime at Longwood was mind-blowingly beautiful, and my husband and I recently hit up Grandpa for some sitting so we could chill one night at the new light exhibition. Bottom line–whatever season you go, it’s a treat for the whole family!
We love playing at Longwood 🙂 |
