Not a Big Fan of Change

I am, oh I am…

I readily admit it–I don’t handle change well–at all.  Kind of into having things safe and secure and not adding any drama to my world.  But I do try my best to roll with things b/c I know that life is just full of rocking–wanted or not.  I don’t think I am very successful.  Here is a list of the current curveballs I am struggling with:

1.  JCPenney GOT RID OF COUPONS!  Sure I never actually went to the store and used these, but the whole concept of shedding my primary source of money-saving victory is inconceivable.  Will other stores follow suit?  Will I have a breakdown if they do?

2. Always came out with a “Radiant” line of pads.  C’mon, I just got my head wrapped around the “Infinity” line and convinced myself to fall in love with those.  And why do I need my sanitary napkins to be radiant anyway?

3. Blockbuster stores (and most kiosks from what I understand) are closing. Yes, cognitively I understand that I can still rent DVDs online, but something about knowing I at least had the option to rent in-person was comforting…

4. DOOL brought back Lisa Rinna (who I actually really enjoy, big puffy lips and all) to play Billie.  But seriously, I can only handle so much stress in my life–can we just settle on a Billie actress once and for all??

5. My daughter decided she is too grown-up for baby foods.  She is 9 mo.  I have a freezer full of homemade baby food cubes.  Get over it, girlfriend–pureed foods are still gracing your foreseeable future.

6. The USPS is considering Five-Day Delivery.  Whaa??  This is another one that I can “cognitively get”, but seriously?  I’m supposed to lose one day/week of that slightly giddy “what will the mail-lady bring today” high?  Just cut off my right arm while you’re at it…

7.  As rumor has it, I am getting a new phone next month.  For innumerable reasons, I am ecstatic.  I am also panicked.  This is a huge.  I may not recognize my new ringtone.  I may not fully understand the data package.  I may not be able to find the “on” button.

Head in the sand…can I keep it here?  Please?

8. Blogger changed it’s dashboard format.  Potentially, I will never get over this.  Joining the blogging community was HUGE for me, Eschewer of the Modern World.  And then they go and change the only world I have ever known?

9. What, metal-toned nail color is no longer cool?!  I just figured out how to rock this one.  Think I’ll still with it anyway and just remain safely behind-the-trend.

10.  Listen, when checking books out of the local library is decidedly old-school, this Mom of the Year is officially done trying to “keep up with the times”.  Roll out the typewriter, screw the GPS, and don’t ever text me…
