I love love love pictures of my children. What red-blooded parent doesn’t? Shortly after my son was born (okay, fine while he was still in utero–I’m psycho. I stalked, researched, and compared all of the photography joints in the area pre-birth), we landed at Picture People. In general, I’m fan. One of my favorite past blog posts was about one of our trips to this establishment. 95% of the time we leave there with awesome pics. The few bad pics we’ve gotten have been the fault alone of my cranky children and dog (yes, back in our one-kid days we were actually crazy enough to try taking him along). Seriously, why can’t they just get on board and realize it’s Picture Day? There will likely be hell to pay should they ever come home with absolutley horrible school pics too–when pics are involved, this Mom of the Year becomes even more neurotic and demanding than usual.
In any case, overall, I like Picture People. If you rock a good coupon (think Entertainment Book here, not some crappy code you find online), the prices are actually very comparable to other places such as Sears or JCPenny. They know how to work with kids and get the best out of them. Liz at the Exton Square Mall location must moonlight as a Child Whisperer in the ilk of the Super Nanny–she is amazing. These are the pros. Cons include: without the right coupon, Picture People can definitely be more pricey and the new ownership (as of about a year ago) makes me grouchy. They have stopped taking more than one promo code at a time and no longer send you the online link for the session so you can e-mail brag to your friends and family about how cute your kids are. When you weigh it all out though, I’m a fan. Sign me up for the Portrait Club Membership b/c my family is there to stay…
