Ann Romney: SAHM of the Year

Just awarded The SAHM of the Year award in my book.

This is a love letter to Ann Romney.  I know by this time, everyone is probably over-saturated with news media, blog posts and the like re: the shocking revalation that this woman actually stayed home to raise her kids her whole life.  And isn’t apologizing for it.  But I had to throw my two cents in b/c it’s just a little too relevant to my world as a SAHM right now.  Go you, Hilary Rosen.  The Romney campaign thanks you for the publicity.  Even if you are all anti-SAHM (why the heck are you reading this blog anyway then?), it shed as-yet unparallelled attention on Mitt Romney.  Before this point, I had a serious case of sick confusion over not knowing who to vote for in the upcoming election.  Guess what?  Romney is now getting my vote.  You raise up these Mama Bear hackles by critizing her daily life’s work and she’s just going to get more than a little obnoxiously self-righteous and defensive.  So yes, Romney is now my candidate, but his wife is my man from here on out.

My daughter will drive for their errand run…

In the meantime, come on over, Hilary Rosen.  Since I “don’t work”, we’ll sit around on the couch with our bonbons while my two babies change their own poop, dodge themselves away from choking hazards, take baths independently without drowning, puree their own baby food, play in the yard pushing themselves on the swings, load up the laundry, run the vacuum, drive themselves out for a quick grocery store shop (I think if my 9 mo. old stands on my 2 year old’s shoulders they can probably push the cart around, right?), and teach themselves to read.
