I (Heart) my new chair… How did I ever become cool enough to own an “accent chair”?! Slightly taken with myself right now, sorry… |
My dog will never forgive us. He DESPISES change. Here is what happened: our elderly neighbors from our apartment complex of 7 years ago gave us their old recliner before they moved out. Who knows how many decades they had it before they passed it onto us? In a desperate state of absolutely no-disposable income, we purchased a loveseat/sofa combo for approximately $700 10+years ago. Yes, imagine the quality coming through on that one…before this ill-fated purchase, I never knew that furniture could actually hurt. After a decade, I can now give testament of couch-induced pain and have spent years fantasizing about an improved decor–both visually and in the “for-the-love-of-God-let-me-crash-into-something-comfortable-at-the-end-of-day” regard. Ergo, praise God when said inherited recliner physically broke into non-repairable pieces 2 weeks ago. I could feel it, sense it, taste it–new furniture that, gasp!, might actually be comfortable to sit on was within our grasp. Oh fantasies redeemed, my husband and I made the trek to Raymor & Flanigan and discovered a more humane way of living (read: oversized butt not falling off the couch and poorly placed support beam not digging into middle of back). I am in love.
My almost-8-yr.-old dog hates us, of course, for rocking his precisily calculated known environment, but I am blissful. Bring on the new furniture–this Mom of the Year has got a new couch. Oh yeah…
