So, so many things about having a truly neurotic dog drive me nuts and generally make me want to pull my hair out (read: lock him in the bathroom when he has his 500th hysterical barking fit of the day), but I saw these two images recently and it reminded me of the #1 reason to keep him–unconditional amorous love. Sure, we say we have this for our children and spouse, but it’s been a LOONG time since I can recall my husband laying on top of me in the morning, just staring at my face waiting for me to wake up. And yes, my children, esp. when super-super young get a little panicky when I leave, but I don’t recall either of them ever shredding a wooden door to express their feelings. Our Bailey is a horrific mess, but he is our horrific mess and bottom line, he just loves us so darn much. So I think we’ll keep him 🙂
