Yes, it’s Game Day, and yes, it will most definitely be on. Cute Superbowl-themed snacks at the ready and palatable excitement in the air (yes, sure, large portion of excitement on Mommy’s part is attributed to the cool new commercials that will be aired). Son properly keyed up and feeling cool to participate in this epic American tradition. Only catch? Our 2 yr. old has the attention of, well, a 2 yr. old. Football-viewing in our home most often goes down like this: Watch about 13 seconds, pop up, run around the house, beg for juice, find a cool toy, request help turning the toy on, want you to play with him, get bored with toy, run back into the living room, yell “I watch football!”, sit down on designated child-sized chair, and repeat. And repeat…and repeat…I have a feeling we’re not the only ones in this “more active viewing” boat. So watch the game, enjoy, but don’t ask any parents of young kids to recap any game details with you at the water cooler tomorrow…:)
