This post is a direct rip-off from a conversation with my dear friend R the other day. She told me that would really like to finish the scrapbook of her daughter’s first year of life soon; her daughter is currently 4 1/2. I asked her how far into it she is. She said she is moving into starting the second month…See, I just give her credit for even trying. I long ago realized that I didn’t have the patience for scrapbooking and stocked up on a bunch of those cheap magnetic picture albums. I shove all our family photos in there, most with no accompanying date or description. If I tried to be any more elaborate, it would never get done. So my poor children will be the only ones without a fancy scrapbook to show off at their b-day parties…OH WELL!
However simplified my approach may be, I recently told my husband that even this was too much a of time suck and we had to figure out something different. I suggested making up one of those photo books online, as this would surely save time without having to order prints, go pick them up, etc. He looked at me like I had three heads. It is possible that his reaction is due to my recent attempt to make a photo wall calendar online for a Christmas gift. It is adorable. I love it. IT TOOK ME ALL DAY TO MAKE IT–literally…ugh, ugh, the lengths that we will go to to capture photos of our sweet little ones. I think it is now evident that I need a personal live-in Photo Manager…wonder if my husband will go for that one???
