My world has been completely turned upside down. My very wise, astute friend J.B. suggested that I give online grocery shopping a try as soon as my son was encasted. I held out, for what reason I do not know, until last week. Then I hit Genaurdi’s.com and fell in love. This was easy. This was fun. The delivery cost? Free the first time (and you can even get $9 off your bill if you choose a large delivery window a few days out), and free thereafter if you select 5 of the featured 100 products and add them to your cart. WHAT?!? What have I been missing? I am completely sold, and I never want to look back!! Sadly, I cannot use my beloved coupons, but someone pointed out to me that there is no impulse shopping involved with online grocery shopping. I have to specifically look up each item that I want, so don’t end up buying a bunch of junk I don’t need. Throw that in with not having to drag the kids to the store, esp. in nasty weather or when they are being psychotic (read: all the time), and being able to score some fresh milk and eggs while still in my pajamas, and the benefits clearly win out. Acme apparently does the same thing. And as soon as Peapod by Giant comes my way, you’d better believe I’m signing on to get that free delivery and $15 off my first order…Inherent problem: I will have yet another delivery guy I will have to figure out how to appropriately gift for the holidays…
