My friend called last night to say she is participating a police training exercise day today, complete with guns and burning buildings. My sister went zip-lining in St. Lucia last week, and my SIL performs concerts in Europe to packed audiences. Totally awesome experiences. So what does this SAHM do for her adrenaline rush? Waits for the UPS truck. Albeit, the physicality of this is upped by tackling our 70 lb. lab with my hand clamped around his mouth to prevent the unthinkable barking and waking up the kids up from nap (back in covert operations mode here). Deliveries to our house have become quite frequent as having two children to drag along on errands has spurred me to finely hone my online ordering skills (an obscene number of products you would normally purchase at a store can shipped for free at a cheaper cost). So while there may someday be a time for exotic international travel and thrills, for now I’ll just be the crazy lady standing at the end of my driveway in the late afternoon hours–no need to stop and see if she’s collecting donations for something. Just a totally jazzed 32 yr. old waiting for a pack of paper plates and a month’s supply of probiotics 🙂
