Obviously, I must have bathroom needs on the brain, since I have now dedicated my last two posts to it…My husband always enjoyed talking about poop far more than I ever have. He was shocked to learn that growing up, it was not actually a daily topic of conversation for me (somehow didn’t come up so often in a house of two girls?). Things have changed. Now do I not only talk about it with frequency, my family’s pooping has become a primary focus in my life. As far as I can tell, I am responsible for managing the poop needs of 4 (myself, my son, my daughter and the dog) and heavily invested in a 5th (my husband talks about his “situation” so much, I have the joy of feeling like I’m right there with him). Aside from the obvious changing (often very messy) diapers, stocking diapers in various sizes, refilling wipes containers, letting the dog in and out and the daily washing of baby girl clothes after blow-outs, keeping a check on regularity has become a concern (can I get an “Amen!” from any of the ladies who have ever been pregnant?!). I used to work at a nursing homes, and they kept charts to help monitor the residents’ “situations”. This may translate well to the home front. I will keep you posted. For now, if you call, don’t be shocked if not only does poop get brought up, but is indeed the very first point of discussion. Hey, as any Poop Manager will tell you, it’s important 🙂
