Did you know this Saturday, June 4th, is National Eggs Benedict Day? As huge fan of brunch foods, I’m seeing this not only as a day to celebrate, but also as the perfect excuse to take your family out this weekend!
I’ve shared before how very much my family loves the Grand Lux Cafe (read: we haven’t stopped drooling over those amaaaaazing red velvet pancakes and beignets I told you about since our last visit!). When they offered to host us again to check out their Eggs Benedict in honor of the upcoming holiday, we eagerly piled in the minivan and headed off!
Once again, I was so wowed by how kid-friendly this restaurant is. My children are so taken with the Wikki Stix they have for kids, which keeps them happy and busy until our meal arrives. Major score! There are other genius touches that make Grand Lux Cafe such an easy place to dine with children. As an appetizer, we got them each strawberries with a mini bowl of whipped cream for dipping (only $3!), and they loved this fun treat! And while the kids’ menu has lots of choices, the kitchen is happy to make breakfast to order for the kids. This worked especially well with my son, who prefers a plain waffle.
There is a wide selection of scrumptious weekend brunch options, and I was impressed by the new items had been introduced since our last visit. The Grand Lux cafe is committed to keeping their food not only quality and delicious, but creative as well. My husband fell hard for the new Churro French Toast, and the brand-new-to-the-menu Blood Orange Mimosas were incredible.
As for the main event, the star of National Eggs Benedict Day?
On their menu, it is listed as “‘The Best’ Eggs Benedict with Ham & Hollandaise”, and this is an apt description! I’ve enjoyed eggs benedict with variations, like crab or vegetable, but this classic recipe was executed with perfection. Even my husband, who isn’t one to typically order the dish, took one bite and said, “This is really good.” And it was fantastic–a wonderful mix of richness and flavors. Even when it’s not National Eggs Benedict Day, I’ll be ordering this dish again!
Brunching at the Grand Lux Cafe again proved to be a fun, delicious experience for our whole family. As we made our way out the door, my kids joined in a chorus of “When can we go back, Mommy?” Soon, very soon, I hope!
Happy National Eggs Benedict Day, friends! Go get your brunch on at Grand Lux Cafe!
***Thank you to Grand Lux Cafe for hosting my family for brunch so I could share our experience with you. Our delight in this restaurant is 100% genuine!***
